Fight For Future, Chapter Seventy-Two *FINAL CHAPTER*
Niall had come home from tour two weeks ago, and we were residing in Mullingar once again. We had managed to also pull together a room for the babies in the flat here and in London. Niall promised that as soon as he came back from the American tour, we would buy a house together, in London, and become a real family.
Everything was a lot quieter since Emily passed. I didn’t really talk to my family as much. Since Niall got back, I stayed with him immediately. He was really there for me.
My due date is in 4 days, and I am really excited, yet nervous. After 9 months, I am just ready for those kids to come into the real world.
I laid down on the couch, it was about 8 pm. I was watching TV, Food Network of course. Niall sat down on the island in the kitchen, scrolling past his tweets on his iPhone. All of a sudden, I felt water trickling down my leg. My heart started beating very fast.
“Yeah, baby? Everything ok?”
“I…I think they’re coming.” Niall’s eyes clouded with excitement.
“Are you sure?”
“Yes! Yes I am sure.” I started to stand up.
“No! Don’t stand up, let me get the bag, and I’ll come and get you.” Niall was smiling, and I chuckled. The bag was something we put together to take to the hospital.
“I’m fine.” I started to walk a little bit, and I felt a sharp pain. “OW! Niall!”
“I’m coming, I’m coming,” He replied, already with the bag. He helped me stand up with one arm, and closed our front door with the other. We got to the car, and Niall helped me to get in, and he started driving. The hospital wasn’t very far away, thank god.
“OWWW!” I clutched my stomach. The pain was almost unbearable. “Oh my god, Niall, they’re coming!” I looked up to see we were in the hospital parking lot. Niall must’ve said something and I didn’t notice, because plenty of nurses came out with a wheelchair. I sat in it and they wheeled me to a room. This was all happening so fast, wait, where’s Niall? “Niall!!” I shouted, in hopes for him to come over.
“I’m here, I’m right here!” He grabbed hold of my hand and I turned around looking at him. “Niall, it hurts so bad.” I was on the verge of tears, but I was not about to let them spill out. This was a happy, not sad time.
“I know, baby, I know, I’m sorry. Hang in there, for me. For us, all of us!” I nodded, squeezing his hand as hard as I could.
They immediately got her into the hospital bed. She was screaming, I felt so bad. It looked like it hurt like hell.
“PUSH!” The nurse said. Christina pushed, squeezing my hand so hard I thought it was going to fall off. I leaned my head onto hers and whispered into her ear.
“C’mon Christina, only a few more pushes, you’re almost there. Think of our kids!”
“The first head is out, a girl!” The nurse said. Within seconds, they pulled our beautiful child out, crying. My whole life flashed before my eyes, our child, it is our child. My beautiful baby girl. My eyes pricked with tears. They took her to get cleaned up, when Christina is still working to get our other one out. “One more push, and it’s a boy!” Christina opened her eyes and saw the little child, and started to lightly cry. I hugged Christina while we were waiting to get our precious little people back.
Two nurses came back with the children. A tear leaked out when I caught sight of our beautiful baby boy and girl. Christina held our boy close, and I held our little girl.
“You did it, Christina.”
“No, we did it.” She told me.
“Hi beautiful,” I whispered to the baby, who was still crying a little bit. “shh, daddy’s here, don’t cry, its ok, you’re ok.” She flashed a little smile at me, and that made me smile.
“Look, Niall, they’ve got your eyes.” Christina said to me. I smiled, and nodded.
“And your nose, and dimple.” I said, looking at our little boy smiling.
The nurse came next to us. “What names do you want to go on the birth certificate?” I looked at Christina, and she answered. We had picked out the names earlier.
“For the girl, Samantha for the first name, Emily for the middle name.” Christina wanted Emily in honor for Emily. “For him, Christian for the first name, Ryan for the middle.” I smiled.
They put Christina in a wheelchair, and wheeled her into the waiting room, but now holding Samantha. My parents and brother, Christina’s parents, and the boys, were all here. They took turns holding Christian and Samantha. Once we were all done, we had to make our way home.
Christina and I sat on the couch, with Christian and Samantha in baby chairs across from us.
“You know what, Christina?” I said, softly.
“This past year has been, insane. Actually that’s an understatement. But I am so happy that I could go through all these adventures with you. We have gone through so much, and I really couldn’t have asked for someone better. I have fallen so hard for you, and I love you so much. That’s why, I am going to do this.” I wiped the tears away from my eyes, and got down on one knee, and placed my hand on Christina’s leg. “You are my sunshine, my one and only. You are perfect, amazing. You are funny, you are me. We fit together like a glove. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Please, Christina Marx, will you give me the greatest gift ever, and marry me?” I pulled out the ring, and Christina was speechless.
“YES! YES NIALL HORAN I WILL MARRY YOU!” I got up and picked up Christina, spinning her around. I sat us both down, and Christina looked me straight in the eye. ” I love you so much.”
“I love you, too.” I slipped the ring on her, and I kissed her passionately. Everything was perfect, everything was the way it was supposed to be. Finally.
